GETTING THERE

The Rescue The Republic Event is located on the West end of the National Mall between the Washington Monument and the World War II Memorial.
Address: 58–78 15th St NW, Washington, DC  20230 (38.89148° N, 77.03393° W)

Gate Locations:

  • Gate 1: Is located off 15th ST NW and Constitution Ave NW, directly North of the Washington Monument.  
  • Gate 2: Is located on the South end of the event perimeter, off the Urban Trek and south Washington Monument Pathway. South of the Washington Monument. 

When To Arrive:

8 a.m. Sunday, September 29, 2024. Security screenings will be at all entrances. Please check the prohibited items list before you arrive.

PARKING

There are many options for public parking within walking distance of the event. We suggest that you reserve your parking spot in advance through Spot Hero to ensure that you can secure a space closest to the Washington Monument.  

Spot Hero Pre-Pay Parking Options:

  1. Anytime prior to arrival you may go to spothero.com and reserve your parking spot.
  2. Key in Book Parking Near (landmark) “Washington Monument” or “World War II Memorial”.
  3. Set reservation dates and times (for example, arriving Sunday)
  • Enter After Sun, Sep 29, 7:30 AM
  • Exit Before Sun, Sep 29, 8:00 PM

4. You may add preferences via filters (e.g., self-parking, covered parking, EV Charging, etc.)

5. Select your spot from available locations

6. Complete online transaction 

PUBLIC TRANSIT

Closest Metro Stops:

The Federal Triangle and the Smithsonian Metro stops, along the Blue Line, will get you closest to the event.

AIRPORT

The Closest airport is the Reagan Washington Airport (DCA)

You can take the METRO from DCA Airport:

It takes 38 min to travel via the Metro trains to & from Washington Monument to the Reagan Washington (DCA) Airport.

Rideshare Services Uber and Lyft and Taxis are available at DCA: 

It takes about 50 minutes to get to drive to the Washington Monument

  • Upon arrival, exit towards Ground Transportation on Arrivals Level. 
  • Follow the signs to “Ground Transportation” and “Baggage Claim.”  
  • Retrieve ALL bags before using your App of choice to order a ride.
  • Walk outside and look for “Passenger Pickups” or “TNC/Rideshares.“
BUS PARKING & DROP OFF

Motorcoach Guide & Parking Regulations 
In response to safety,  security and preservation requirements, the Capitol Police and the Department of Motor Vehicles have enacted several regulations that cover permitting and traffic flow for motor coaches.

Motorcoaches are precluded from traveling within certain locations on and around the grounds of the U.S. Capitol and utilizing many of the residential streets in the Capitol Hill Historic District.
